Golf Tee Times – Enjoy Golf

By Don Halloran

Getting a good tee time can be a challenge if you are living in a metropolitan area and playing the public courses. But sometimes you can find great ways to enjoy your game a little more through golf tips in unusual circumstances.

golf-tee-timesOne of the problems of getting a tee time was solved, when a friend invited some of us to play 9 holes at 5:30am on a weekday. At first I told him, that sunrise isn’t until 5:45am but he said it gets light at 5:30am. The four of us met at the busy public course and started on the back nine at 5:30am, finishing our 9 holes at 7:25am.

I was completely amazed at the beauty of watching the sun come up through the trees, the stillness of the morning and the fantastic feeling of being able to play nine holes of golf in less than 2 hours on a busy public course. We made a regular event of this experience throughout the summer and I was able to be in the office by 9am each time.

These experiences led me to more ways to enjoy the game of golf. For golf tips other ways I found to enjoy the game of golf :

1. Looking forward to the 19th hole, reviewing with my friends, how great a game of golf it was using some of the golf tips.

2. Keep your body in shape with regular exercise so that the round of golf is not tiring physically.

3. Smell the fresh air and the flowers on the course.

4. Enjoy the green grass and enjoy the trees but keep the golf ball out of the trees.

The next round of golf that you play, enjoy the outdoors. Go for it.

If you want to enjoy and play golf better, practice your golf tips and enjoy your game.

Beginners Golf – 7 Must Know For Beginners

By Brian Riley

beginners-golfBefore you head out and play your next game, it is important to make sure you know the important basic rules of golf. It wouldn’t be a pretty sight if you had more experienced players lecturing you about the basic rules of golf for half of the game. So here in this article, I will show you the most important basic rules of golf that you should be aware of.

Basic Rules of Golf #1: As with every sport, it’s always important to have good etiquette. They’re unwritten, but you should always remember to act nicely to other players.

This means that if someone is about to swing their golf club, you shouldn’t distract them by talking or making noises. Also, be sure to move along with the game without delaying it too much; you wouldn’t want people to wait around just for you to play.

Basic Rules of Golf #2: Be sure that when you receive your score card, you read the rules carefully. Also, be sure that you designate which ball brand you’re using so that everyone can tell who has what ball. If you and another golfer are using the same brand, then you can put some sort of mark on the ball so that you can tell the difference.

Basic Rules of Golf #3: Most of the time, courses that you play on will have a 14 club limit. If you want to play with more, then everyone will have to agree to increase the limit. When you’re playing with people you don’t normally play with, just stick to 14 clubs.

Basic Rules of Golf #4: Remember that your ball must be behind the tee marker when you’re teeing off. Usually these tee markers will have different colors, which will indicate the different handicaps.

Basic Rules of Golf #5: Note that your balls must be played as lay lie. So that means that if you find your ball is hit into a bad area, you’ll have to stick with it and play from that spot. It’s against the rules to touch your ball and move it to get it out. Most players are strict, so don’t touch the ball!

Basic Rules of Golf #6: You will incur a 1-stroke penalty if you hit your ball out of bounds. You will then have to hit another ball instead. Also, if you hit your ball into the water, you will again have a 1-stroke penalty.

Basic Rules of Golf #7: When you’re at the green, always avoid walking through another player’s line of putt from their ball to the hole. The reason is that you may leave foot prints, and these foot prints can leave little divots that make the surface uneven for putting.
